CS Directs Officials to Be on High Alert

With heavy rain continuing in different parts of Telangana, the State government has alerted all the districts.

Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, who held a teleconference with all the district collectors from New Delhi on Tuesday, directed all the officials to be on high alert and ensure that there is no loss of human life.

The Chief Secretary said that Chief Minister  K Chandrashekar Rao was in the national capital and had been closely monitoring the rainfall situation in the State.

During the conference, all the officials were directed to be on high alert and ensure that there is no loss of human life. Somesh Kumar mentioned the flow in the Musi which has resulted in huge inflow of water into Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar.

The MD Water Board has been asked to work in close coordination with GHMC and regularly monitor the water flow in these tanks.  Relief camps have already been identified by the GHMC and if needed people to be affected by the letting of flood waters from these tanks have to be shifted to these camps, he said.

Similarly, all the district collectors were told to be vigilant regarding causeways, low-lying areas, breaches to roads, and tanks.  All officials have to be stationed in their headquarters and any untoward incident has to be brought to the notice immediately for taking necessary action. All the line departments should work in close coordination, the Chief Secretary added.

Special CS MA&UD  Arvind Kumar, Additional DG Jitender, CDMA Satyanarayana, GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, MD Water Board Danakishore,  Secretary PR&RD Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Secretary Disaster Management Rahul Bojja and other officials were in the video conference.
