CS seeks world export norms report in 15 days

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary S K Joshi today directed the officials concerned to submit a detailed report on worldwide norms to make exports from Telangana in Medical Tourism, Agriculture, Milk, Fisheries, Granite, Textiles and other sectors.

Joshi conducted a high-level meeting at the Secretariat here and discussed about the State-level trade development and promotion coordination committee. On the occasion, the Chief Secretary instructed the officials to give details to the industrial sector about global standards, quality, demand and supply and trade norms for exporting from the State.

Then with all details, the government will work out a plan of action for increasing exports, he said. Joshi also said the present programs on export will continue and the plans will be formulated to strengthen the system to increase the exports with quality. It was also decided to conduct a special meeting on Medical tourism, he said.

He said there was a need to conduct seminars, conferences, workshops and out-reach programs with related groups on trade exports. The CS asked the officials to prepare an action plan with a focus on the key departments to encourage exports. The officials were also asked to get thorough knowledge on the norms being implemented in various countries pertaining to exports. The State was now making exports of pharma, organic chemicals, cotton, cereals, pearls, electrical machinery and other sectors. (NSS)
