Danushka Gunathilaka suspended for six international matches

Sri Lanka Cricket have suspended all-rounder Danushka Gunathilaka for six international matches after the player breached the board’s Player Code of Conduct and Contractual Obligation.

Additionally, Gunathilaka will not receive any match fees for the second Test against South Africa in Colombo, an SLC release stated.

The first three matches of the six-match suspension are for Gunathilaka’s recent breach of the code of conduct, while the other three have been enforced from the suspended sentence of a three-match ban that he was dealt in October 2017.

He had initially been suspended for six matches last year during Sri Lanka’s home series against India, but the suspension was was later revised to three matches. He was also fined 20% of his annual contract fee.
