Dasara Dhamaka: TSRTC Generates Revenue of Rs 25 Crore in 11 Days

During the Dasara festival, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) experienced a significant boost in its services, leading to an impressive additional revenue of Rs 25 crore in just 11 days. The special bus services provided by the RTC played a crucial role in this financial success.

Despite maintaining ordinary fares, TSRTC implemented a dynamic fare system, which proved to be advantageous. Travelers to destinations such as Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, and Chennai benefitted from this system, as the charges collected were lower than those of private travel operators. This strategic move led commuters to prefer TSRTC over private alternatives.

The special bus services were operational from October 13 to 24, spanning 11 days and catering to the needs of commuters returning to Hyderabad. On a regular day, TSRTC typically earns revenue ranging between Rs 12 crore and Rs 13 crore. However, during the Dasara festival, the corporation witnessed an additional daily revenue of Rs 2 to 3 crore, reaching a peak of Rs 19 crore on a single day.
