“Death To Taliban, Long Live Afghanistan” Chant Protestors In Afghanistan

Amidst the changing regime with the Taliban taking over Afghanistan and the face of the changing world politics, hundreds of Afghanistan took to the streets to protest against the Taliban rule, in Kabul.

Taliban Has Reportedly Captured Panjshir Province

As per the latest reports, multiple videos on social media showed crowds taking to streets to show their support for the resistance movement led by Ahmad Massoud against the Taliban rule. The videos also showed crowds chanting “death to Taliban, long live Afghanistan” as people march on to the streets on Monday night.

The reports earlier said that the Taliban had announced that they had captured Panjshir province. The last stronghold of the anti-Taliban movement, the National Resistance Front (NRF) is mobilised under the leadership of Ahmad Massoud, the son of anti-Soviet resistance hero Ahmad Shah Massoud.

Following this, Ahmad Massoud released an audio message in which he called for a “national uprising”. In the audio message, he said that they request their brothers and sisters, wherever they are and with whatever means are available to rise and resist against the imposition “servile and subjugated future in Afghanistan”.

Protestors Chant “Death To Pakistan”

Meanwhile, in some of the videos that surfaced online, protestors also chanted “death to Pakistan”. This comes after Ahmad Massoud accused Taliban for suing “foreing mercenaries” but did not name any specific country.

The US has previously accused Pakistan for supporting Taliban. However, Pakistan has denied the charges. Pakistan’s spy chief Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed flew towards Kabul on September 4. However, the agenda for the same was not clear but a senior official in Pakistan said that earlier in the week that Hameed may help Taliban in re-organising the Afghan military.

Hameed heads the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency.

Many of the regional media reports have cited anonymous sources have said that the Pakistan (reportedly) provided air support for the Taliban during their strikes against the resistance fighters in Panjshir.
