Principal Secretary (health) shared the announcement in the DDMA meet headed by Baijal.

The District Magistrates are doing the task of linking 19 more hospitals with hotels which would increase the capacity of the beds by approximately 2000 till June 15th.

The government of Delhi informed the LG that the CATS group of ambulances has been increased to 450 from160 with decreased response time of less than 30 minutes. The national capital’s 42 testing labs have been made functional and are now working.

A committee with the leadership of the Divisional Commissioner has been organized to find out ways to further increase the capacity of beds. It has suggested using Pragati Maidan, Talkatora Indoor stadium, Thyagaraj Indoor stadium, Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, Dhyanchand National Stadium etc. as temporary makeshift hospitals, said the statement.

It was also told that currently, 11,259 cases are in home isolation and specialized healthcare companies have been employed especially for these cases.

A total of 2,000 pulse oxymeters have been reserved for patients under home isolation. Also, extensive TV and print media activities have been started to allow people to understand the measures to be taken for staying under home isolation and the proper conduct.

Baijal has directed all the stakeholders for containment zone strategies as per the ICMR guidelines and has instructed the field officials to delineate the containment zones properly to ensure their effective management to contain the spread of the infection.

The LG also advised the officials to look upto the best practices of other cities like Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru for better management of Covid-19 cases in Delhi as they’re trying to contain the spread and reduce the number of infections in their respective cities.
