Disgruntled Ramesh quits TRS, to join Cong

Hyderabad: Disgruntled TRS leader and former MP Ramesh Rathod from Adilabad is all set to join the opposition congress on Friday. According to information he resigned to the TRS for denying a ticket from Khanapur segment and he raised a banner of revolt since then. He stiffly opposed the decision of TRS boss and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for denying him the ticket and instead offering it to Rekha Naik another former MLA from ST community.

Ramesh unhappy with the TRS for denial of the ticket has prepared to join the congress after holding discussions with his followers in the segment. Earlier, Ramesh Rathod, who was the TD Politburo member, joined the TRS fold in the presence of Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao on the promise of getting Khanapur Assembly ticket. On denial of the same by the KCR on Sept 6 when the list of 105 candidates was announced, an annoyed Ramesh has taken up a huge rally in Utnoor against the TRS on Sept 8. He also announced to contest the polls independently if he failed to get a ticket. Ramesh also said that he will contest from Khanapur on Congress ticket. However, it is to be seen whether the Congress, which is to take him in its fold, will give him the ticket from Khanapur segment or not. (NSS)
