After a great deal of dilly-dallying, Etela Rajender, who had been dismissed from the State Cabinet recently, has embraced the saffron party on Monday, indicating that he has abandoned the idea of launching a new political party to fight the ruling TRS in the State.
Political analysts are of the opinion that Etela had taken a correct decision in giving up the idea of a new party, but at the same time he has taken an incorrect decision in joining the BJP, the ruling party at the Centre, which has failed to do justice to the State and neglected it in all fields during the last six years. Observers, however, acknowledge the fact that the former Minister was left with no other option now than to join the BJP.
Political analysts feel that so far as the move to floating a new political outfit is concerned, Etela has correctly assessed the prevailing situation and came to the conclusion that there is no scope for a new political party and it also requires huge money. The TRS and its leader K Chandrasekhar Rao have definitely earned the goodwill of almost all sections of people by introducing many innovative welfare programmes and schemes which have benefitted them to a great extent.

KCR has the credit of launching many welfare and development programmes that were not thought-off by the earlier Congress and TDP Governments during their six decades of rule in the united Andhra Pradesh and also by any other State Government in the country.
People of the State have fully realized these facts as also the role played by KCR in achieving separate statehood for the region. People of the State have also realized that the criticism being voiced by the opposition parties are trivial in nature and deserves to be ignored.
The huge support (vote) secured by the TRS in the elections to the two MLC Seats, Nagarjunasagar Assembly by-election and the mini Municipal polls in recent times amply prove that the TRS enjoys the good-will of the vast majority of people of the State and no other party can match it. It is obvious that these indisputable facts have made Etela realize the ground reality that there is no scope for a new party and it will be an uphill task for him to fight the TRS.
Injustice to State
Analysts, however, find fault with Etela for joining the BJP. People are fully aware that the BJP government at the Centre has been discriminating against the State during the past six years and it was not giving what is due to it. As a Minister, Etela himself had taken the BJP government to task for doing injustice to the State.

The BJP MPs and other leaders from the State have failed to secure justice to the State and in fulfilling the commitments made in the State Reorganisation Act. On the eve of last general elections, the BJP candidate from Nizamabad, Arvindkumar had signed on a Bond paper that if elected, he would get Turmeric Board established in the district within 100 days.
He was elected, but could not get the Turmeric Board. The Union Minister recently declared in the Lok Sabha that there was no need for Turmeric Board at Nizamabad, but the M P kept mum.
Again, when heavy rains and floods created havoc in Hyderabad city, the BJP had promised in its GHMC election manifesto, payment of Rs. 50,000 for each house damaged, while the TRS government assured Rs. 10,000. Because of this allurement, the BJP secured some seats in the election, but the Centre had not released any funds in spite of the repeated requests made by the State government.
A central team had also visited the affected areas but to no effect. All these facts make the people feel that the BJP leaders from the State have no voice at the Centre and they cannot secure justice to the State.

In this background, it is hard to believe that the new entrant to BJP, Etela would be able to get anything done for the State. Observers feel.
