Don’t panic on viral fevers: Lakshma Reddy

Hyderabad: Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today appealed to people to avoid panic about possible spread of viral fevers and contagious diseases across the State in the wake of heavy rains. The government has made all arrangements in advance in agency areas and other districts to take immediate measures to cater to health needs of the people, Lakshma Reddy said.

During a review meeting with Health Principal Secretary Shanthi Kumari, Family Welfare Commissioner Vakati karuna and other officials at Secretariat here, the health minister asked them to instruct the district collectors, health and other officials to coordinate to check the health problems. Ensure that no complaints are made about laxity of medicines and health services at any villages, agency and Tribal areas and districts in the State, he said. Lakshma Reddy asked the top officials to warn the district administration to put in extra alert on health services. He also said that they have supplied adequate medicines, equipment and machinery, vaccinations in all places in addition to medical staff to take care of health problems of the people. (NSS)
