Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister, T Srinivas Yadav today instructed officials to use quality fish and with the specific size before using them for dropping in lakes and water bodies.
He held a meeting with them and asked to follow expert committee advise to use the correct sized and quality fish for the free fish program
As per this drive, we plan to drop 81 cr of fish in about 23000 lakes and water bodies he said. The minister said that the committee will visit the hatcheries to finalize the specific fish for the purpose.
Then the officials can take up fish dropping drive in the tanks, water bodies, and lakes. Last year we dropped 5 crores of fish and now 81 cr fish to be used to help the fisherman.
While the Congress government used to give poor funds and no support, Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao is offering crores of funds to help the fisherman community he said. On subsidy we help the Fisherman community with nets, vehicles, and required apparatus he said. Serious action will be taken if norms are violated he warned. (NSS)
