Drug peddlers linked to Sonali Phogat case come from Goa: Hyderabad Police

The Hyderabad police said on Thursday that the drug peddlers involved in the Sonali Phogat case are all from Goa, but the main suspect remains at large.

As a result of an inquiry with all drug consumers in our area, we learned that their peddlers are Pritish Narayan and Adwin, both from Goa,” said Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand.

Pritish was arrested by our team in Goa, but Adwin could not be arrested there. Adwin was named as a suspect in the Sonali Phogat case by the Goa Police. It turns out that all the peddlers involved in the case are only from Goa,” he said.

On August 17, Pritish Narayan was arrested by the Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-New) of Hyderabad for allegedly supplying drugs at Anjuna beach in Goa and in the Telugu states.

During his interrogation, it was discovered that six people, including Steven and Adwin Noonis, both from the Anjuna areas, were distributing drugs across the country. Osmania University police arrested Pritish and named all six accused persons in the case. The Hyderabad police have forwarded a copy of the FIR and other information to the Anjuna police, who have been asked to arrest them.

Further, CV Anand claimed that Goa Police refused to cooperate with Hyderabad Police when they tried to contact them.

On August 23, Sonali Phogat, 42, died at the St Anthony Hospital in Anjuna, North Goa. A post-mortem report revealed she suffered blunt force injuries to her body, which led the Goa Police to register a murder case.

In the 2019 Haryana election, the actor, who rose to fame from her TikTok videos, ran as a BJP candidate but lost to then Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi (he has since joined the BJP). In 2020, she appeared on the reality show Bigg Boss.
