EC appoints Amrapali as Joint CEO to correct “anomalies” in voters lists

Hyderabad: Election Commission today appointed GHMC Additional Commissioner Amrapali as joint CEO of Telangana. Amrapali, who was the Collector of Warangal has recently been appointed as GHMC additional commissioner.

Now, ahead of Assembly polls in the State of Telangana followed by dissolution of the House, the EC has expedited the process of the elections. As per the requirements of the election related arrangements across 31 districts, the EC has engaged some officials and Amrapali’s appointment will supple to monitor the IT related matters of the Elections in the State.

Since the political parties have made complaints of large scale irregularities of removal of voters and need to check the veracity of the voters, names, photos and ensure correct data, the EC was making use of latest technologies. To look into the IT related aspects to check all these anomalies, the EC has appointed Amrapali in the IT wing of the CEO.

The CEO Rajath Kumar has issued orders appointing Amrapali as the Joint CEO to monitor the issues related to the IT use for the election process. The CEO has already announced that all anomalies of voters list, duplicacy, repetition or mismatching of names and the photos and others. Taking cue from the EC, they are making all round arrangements for smooth and fair conduct of the polls, he said. (NSS)
