Hyderabad: The Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K.Tarak Rama Rao today affirmed that the entire country is looking towards Hyderabad for the corona vaccine.
Today he visited India Biotech company and discussed the experts and employees on the various issues relating to the Corona vaccine trials in the Genome Valley. He said that he is confident that the indigenous Company Bharat Biotech will soon get a major much-needed breakthrough, that will come from Hyderabad and Bharat Biotech”
Minister felt that it is said time and again that India’s vaccine sector will play a critical role in developing and producing vaccines at scale for distribution across the world. Hyderabad’s importance in the global vaccine landscape is only growing, It is a matter of immense pride that the city of Hyderabad produces more than 1/3rd of the global vaccines. This is a significant feat and was only possible because of the relentless efforts of all of you”.
Bharat Biotech MD Krishna Ella said that the new virus poses several challenges. The United States and the World Health Organization have been instrumental in the development of the vaccine. “. About 70 percent of Indian vaccine production is done by 3 Hyderabad companies. He pointed out that Telangana will be in the leadership position in Indian innovations. Hyderabad companies are no less than any vaccine company in the world. The corona vaccine will be available at a lower price than a bottle of water”. He said
Krishna Ella said that they will provide the same quality vaccine to the whole world. Corona also brought about a huge financial crisis. The Union Government should consult with companies on the development of vaccines.
Minister KTR also met experts and veterans on the topic of ‘Science, Emergency – Equilibrium in Competition for Vaccine’. He discussed on the various issues with them.
