Farmer in queue to buy urea dead, Congress blames TRS govt

Hyderabad: The Congress on Thursday expressed its shock over death of a farmer Yellaiah in Dubbaka mandal of Siddipet District while standing in a queue to procure urea. The party held the State government responsible for the plight of the farmers in the State.

TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has already written a letter to the Chief Minister on the issue and urged him to initiate steps to help farmers in procuring urea. Dubbing the State government as anti-farmer, TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi alleged that the State government has failed to solve the problem of shortage of urea in the State. He demanded that the State government extend all possible help to the family members of the deceased farmer.

Mallu Ravi also condemned the arrest of Congress leaders and farmers in Kollapur Assembly constituency of Nagarkurnool district. Alleging that local MLA Harshavardhan Reddy was behind the illegal arrest of Congress leaders, Mallu demanded that the government release their party leaders and farmers. (NSS)
