Farmer Sets Crop On Fire; Varun Gandhi Tweets The Video

In the latest update, BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Pilbhit Varun Gandhi shared a video on Twitter that showed a farmer setting his crop on fire as he was unable to sell his produce in the mandir. He said that the centre should reconsider their agriculture policy.

In the tweet, Varun Gandhi asked about the plight of the farmers that has been reduced. He said that rethinking agricultural policies is the need of the hour. The farmer has been identified as Samodh Singh and had been trying to sell his produce in the mandis from the past 15 days. But has failed to do so. Following the same, he had set the produce on fire.

Varun Gandhi Questions Government’s Relief Policy 

On October 21, Varun Gandhi questioned the government’s relief policy regarding the floods in the lowlands in the state. He said that if people have to help themselves during a crisis like floods, then what would be the role of the government.

Previously, he had also questioned the steps taken by the Adityanath government in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence during which eight people had died. The BJP leader has been saying that farmers agitation cannot be suppressed by violence.

The saffron party has been facing embarrassment due to Gandhi’s recent statements.

Meanwhile, Varun Gandhi and the BJP has been seeing a rift between the two. He said that the Centre ought to accept the protesting farmers demands. He said that the government should accept the farmer’s demands. He also said that he isn’t a part of any corruption but there are leaders who take money from the police and the mining industry.

Gandhi also said that the public has given him the power to resolve the issues not to improve the lifestyle.
