Hyderabad: The farmers of Rajanna Siricilla district today burnt their paddy harvest followed the refusal of the millers to procurement them. The incident took place at a paddy procurement center of Boinpally Mandal of the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the farmers alleged that the rice millers refused to buy their paddy. Angered at this, the farmers of Moodapally staged a protest program at Maruti rice mill of Marripally village of Vemulawada Mandal. The farmers alleged that the rice millers were deducting 8 kgs for one quintal of paddy towards Chaff after procuring them At the IKP Centers. The farmers have alleged that the millers were not even listening to the officials of the district.
