Forest minister asks staff to take Covid 19 vaccine shots

State Forest Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy today asked the staff of his department to take Covid 19 vaccine shots in order to protect themselves from the deadly virus during its ongoing second wave.

He held a high level review meeting with the officials of the department at Aranya Bhavan. The minister inquired about the number of staff infected with the virus, those who availed of the vaccine, and the number of staff members who had died due to the virus.

Speaking on the occasion he asked the principal chief conservator of forests R. Shoba to take steps for the administration of the vaccine from grassroots level employees to the top employees of the department.

The PCCF told the minister that 236 employees had been infected with the virus during the last year and added that 11 employees had died so far. The minister expressed his condolences over the death of the employees and added that they would extend help to all the employees suffering from the virus if they called to the headquarters of the department.
