Kamareddy: In Kamareddy district today, Forest department officials were assaulted in Yacharam village in Banswada division of Gandhari range.
According to the information, two forest section officers, a Forest Beat officer and a watcher went to stop encroachment in Reserve forest area. On seeing three tractors at the spot, one FSO blocked their route with his two-wheeler to stop them. While one tractor hit the FSO, all the three tractors left the site. The forest staff chased them. But the people in the tractors threw stones at them. The tractors had no number plates and they escaped. In the attack, one FSO suffered fracture and admitted to hospital. Forest officers filed a case. Forest officers from Aranya Bhavan spoke to the DGP and District SP also to take strict action against the encroachers and attackers. (NSS)
