GHMC designs traffic junctions to prevent accidents in Hyderabad

As part of an experimental program, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will construct 12 traffic junctions in six zones of Hyderabad zone two to prevent pedestrian accidents, improve traffic control and regularize traffic flow.

A press release from the GHMC indicated that the government is working hard to improve the road by constructing flyovers, underpasses, ROBs, and RUBs in many areas.

“The traffic regularization process, junction development to prevent vehicular accidents, and the traffic signal system have been improved to address the city’s extreme traffic problems. On both sides of the road, pedestrians are able to cross the road using foot over bridges. The corporation said it had arranged elevators and escalators for senior citizens..

A tender process has been completed for the development of 12 junctions with two intersections per zone.

There will be an estimated cost of Rs 33 crores for developing and beautifying the 12 places in the city. A number of facilities are arranged at some points at the junction so that no one will find themselves inconvenienced due to traffic jams caused by various reasons.
