The Governor of the Telangana Tamilisai Soundararajan today inaugurated the golden jubilee celebrations of JNTU in the city.
She also released a logo of the university on the occasion. She also laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Center for the alumni of the university. Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that JNTU was the first technological university of the country and added that the university also has a good reputation in the country.

She said that the university has a state-of-the-art infrastructure as per the changing times.
The university vice-chancellor professor Narasimha reddy said that the university got permission to set up an engineering college at siricilla and Sultanpur areas of the state.
