Governor irked over Congress leaders’ pungent remarks

Hyderabad: A delegation of Congress leaders on Monday called on Governor ESL Narasimhan and submitted a memorandum urging him to take steps for the prevention of the demolition of the existing Secretariat and Assembly buildings complexes.

A rather interesting interaction took place between the Governor and the Congress leaders. When the Governor asked the Congress leaders Revanth Reddy, Shabbir Ali and Jana Reddy as to what was happening in the State, Shabbir Ali bluntly told the Governor he was ignoring the Congress leaders and was too busy looking after the Chief Ministers of the two Telugu States. The Governor objected to the remarks of Shabbir Ali and advised him to make such comments on political platforms.

Replying to the comments of the Governor, Shabbir told him that they were only stating the true facts. Sensing the seriousness of the discussion, senior leader Jana Reddy intervened and told the Governor that all they wanted that he should do something remarkable before he left the State. (NSS)
