Govt Entered into MoU for Jute Mills Establishment : Minister KTR

State Industries Minister KTR today said that their government had entered into an MoU with three companies for the Establishment of jute mills.

Replying to a question raised by the members of State Assembly during question hour, KTR said that the state government was providing incentives to the companies which come forward to set up the Jute Mills.

He said that the government was providing an opportunity for the farmers to cultivate jute as their crop in their fields. He said that the state government secured the first position in the production of paddy and added that they had set up paddy procurement Centers in villages for the convenience of the farmers.

The Minister however said that they struggled a lot due to the shortage of jute bags and added that the closure of the jute mills in West Bengal and Bangladesh led to the shortage of the bags in the state.

He said that, by keeping in view the shortage of the bags, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao asked them to take steps for the production of the jute bags in Telangana. “ The CM has asked us to invite companies to produce the jute bags by giving incentives to them.

A company by name glaster is setting up the jute company in Warangal and another company by name MBG commodities is setting up the jute production company in Rajanna  Siricilla district.

A company by name of Kaleswaram Agro Company is setting up the third jute production company in Kamareddy district. The three companies are making an investment to the tune of ₹887 crore.,”

KTR said while noting that the establishment of the three companies will provide employment opportunities to 10480 people. He said that the state government would buy the jute bags produced by the companies for an initial period of seven years and added that there was a scope for the production of 15 crore jute bags as against the demand to 27 crore bags. He said that they were giving subsidies on the Transportation of the Jute crop.
