Hyderabad: TPCC official spokesperson Dasoju Sravan has alleged that the TRS government was not sincere towards BC reservations in Panchayat elections. He demanded that the State government convene an all-party meeting on Panchayatraj Act and also convene Assembly to discuss it.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Dasoju asked the State government to provide 50 percent reservations to the BCs in Panchayat elections. He said the Congress would extend full support to Panchayatraj Act if it provided 50 percent reservations to the BCs. He also asked BC caste organizations to launch a movement seeking 52 percent reservations to the BCs in Panchayat elections. He also informed that the Congress party would wage movement for 52 percent reservations to the BCs in Panchayat elections on behalf of Congress party. (NSS)
