The state government has said that it established 475 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) in Telangana.
It also said had it set up 194 model Schools across the state. This was revealed by state Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy while replying to a question raised by members of the Telangana assembly during the question and answer session.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that the state government was planning to set up more KGBVs. She said that 1.10 lakh students are studying in the KGBVs of the state.

She also said that they were considering a proposal to upgrade the status of the KGBVs.
Talking about the model schools, She said that the model schools would offer intermediate education in the state.
