Govt to Irrigate 3.85 Lakh Acres Land in Sangareddy : Harish Rao

Telangana Finance Minister T. Harish Rao today said that state government was taking steps to irrigate 3.85 lakh acres of land in Sanga reddy district by building the Basaweswara lift Irrigation scheme and Sangameswara lift irrigation project.

He said that while the project cost of the Sangameswara project was 2653 crore and the project cost of the Basaweswara project was ₹1774 crore.

He made these remarks while replying to questions raised by the members of the state assembly during the question and answer session. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that it was the dream of decades of the people of Sangareddy to see the construction of the two projects. He said that the credit behind the construction of the two projects goes to CM KCR. He said that all the villages of the state were getting irrigation and drinking water under their party’s rule.

He said that they would provide water to 11 manuals of Sangareddy, Zaheerabad, and Andul Assembly constituencies from the Sangameswara lift irrigation project taking the number of beneficial villages to  231 villages.  He said that they would lift 12 TMC of water from Singur Dam for the Sangameswara project.

Rao said that they would irrigate 166 villages from 8 mandala of Narayana Khed and Andol assembly constituencies and added that they would lift 8 tmc of water from the Singur project for the project.
