Gujarat riots, a state crafted massacre to obliterate Muslims: Dr.Puniyani

Reminding how the Gujarat riots were orchestrated and executed under the leadership of the then Chief Minister Narendera Modi, twenty years ago in 2002 that saw nerve wrenching massacre of thousands of Muslim within three days, Dr.Ram Puniyani, a political analyst said, “The Bajrang Dal leader during a sting operation was heard saying they were giving free hand by the state authorities to finish the three day game as a one day match.”

Though the Armed forces were summoned to stop the dance of death on the streets of Gujarat staged by the bestial and heathenish Hundutva forces, he said, no situation was improved for almost a week as the devastation reports of killings, rape and arsenal was continued for several days while local police palpably played a role of mute spectators.

Fomenting the chaos, Dr.Puniyani said, the then Chief Minister Modi was heard spewing venom saying ‘every action has a reaction’ simply attributing it to Newton’s third of ‘Action and Reaction.’ “At one point of time Modi was heard saying that the Gujarat massacre is a reaction to the Godhra incident, an episode surrounded with mystery till now,” he explained.

Apart from the danse macabre on the streets, he further said, the shrine of the renowned peer Hazrath Wali Dakhni was also raised to ground completely which was not restored yet even after several years. “Later, an NGO called Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) revealed how the whole episode was orchestrated and executed by the members of Bajrang Dal and its umbrella groups harboured by RSS simply by making the Godhra carnage as a casus belli to unleash massacre of Muslims,” he revealed.

“Thousands of Muslims were forced to flee their homes and became refugees for several months that too in their own country,” he said, adding that “Barely one or two toilets were provided for hundreds of people who took refuge in the camps.

“Unable to swallow this, the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi made another provocative statement calling the refugee camps full of displaced Muslims families as incubation centres and said that the government can’t afford these camps anymore. Soon the government winded up the refugee camps,” explained Dr.Puniyani.

“Internal displacement, as an aftermath of the riots, begins soon wherein Muslim families displaced from their houses in Hindu majority areas were seen finding abode in Muslim areas. This has led to refusal of rehabilitation, compensation and justice for Muslims as the government simply rubbed its hands from its responsibility,” he pointed out.

“The Gujarat carnage brought a blot on the face of the country as this was the most devastating riot in the history of human conflicts. All the enquiry commission formed later suggested in-unison that whatever the perpetrators unleashed in Gujarat in the year 2002 were enjoyed full support of the local police and the whole carnage was a state sponsored massacre aimed at obliterating Muslims from Gujarat,” explained Dr. Puniyani.
