Gurugram Hospital Opens Vaccination Slots With No Vaccines; FIR Registered

Gurugram hospital recently got caught in a unique Covid 19 scam. The district health department recently reported that the Chiranjivi Hospital in Jharsa, Gurugram was charging fees for the Covid 19 vaccine but asked the beneficiaries to get the vaccination at the government centres. An FIR has been lodged.

Gurugram Resident Complained Of Covid 19 Vaccination Confusion 

As per the latest reports, a Gurugram resident registered a complaint regarding the case to the District Health Department on July 3. In the complaint, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr MP Singh said that the health department was providing Covid 19 vaccine stock to the private hospitals till April 30.

However, later the government announced that the private hospitals will have to buy the Covid 19 vaccines on their own and vaccinate the beneficiaries as per the schedule. However, in the complaint, the health department mentioned that following the new update, the private hospitals were ordered to deposit their remaining stock to the health department.

Officials alleged that even though the hospital had no stock for the Covid 19 vaccines since May 1, it had opened at least 53 slots on the Co-WIN portal on June 26, June 30, July 1 and July 3 at the hospital.

Then on July 3, the department received a complaint from a vaccine beneficiary. The person had complained that the hospital showed slot availability in the Co-WIN app. However, when they reached the hospital, the hospital asked them to get the vaccine shot at the Polyclinic of Health Department located in Sector 31.

Hospital Management Fails To Respond 

Dr Singh further informed that they had tried to contact the hospital management multiple times and have also sent them a notice. But the department did not receive a satisfactory reply. He said that the when they asked hospital about the vaccine stock, the hospital couldn’t inform them of a proper reply regarding the procurement and distribution.

Meanwhile, the hospital management could not be contacted despite phone calls and messages.
