Haj Committee of India Announces Action Plan for 2021 Pilgrimage; Application Opens November 7

New Delhi: The Hajj Committee of India has announced the action plan for Haj pilgrimage 2021 with precautionary steps set up due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The guideline will be given soon.

The online application procedure for Hajj 2021 will begin from 7th November that will continue until December 10. The final date to submit the medical certificate is January 1, 2021.

As per the action plan, the last date to deposit the initial instalment of the fee will be March 1, 2021, while the final date for the same will be April 30, 2021.

The pilgrims will moreover be vaccinated on May 15-16, 2021 at the vaccine camp. The initial batch of pilgrims will leave for Saudi Arabia on June 26, 2021, and the final flight will take off on July 13, 2021. The return stage will commence from August 14, 2021.

According to the report, this time, individuals who are between the ages of 18-65 range of age will be permitted to perform Haj this year.

As per a report in DNA, the Hajj pilgrims from India who will be permitted to travel to Saudi Arabia will be chosen through a lottery in January and in July.

The report includes that if the application forms submitted surpass the required portion, at that point a lottery will be held in January 2021 to decide the travelers who will be chosen for the trip.

A sum of Rs 2,100 crore was refunded to 1.23 lakh pilgrims who were not able to go for Hajj in 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Saudi Arabia has likewise refunded around Rs 100 crore to pilgrims for Hajj 2018-19. As an average around two lakh Indians go for the Hajj pilgrimage each year.

The expense of the Haj pilgrimage has risen also. Chosen Haj should deposit Rs 1.5 lakhs of the initial instalment rather than Rs 81 thousand as prior.

Nonetheless, the Hajj Committee has not yet announced the complete Hajj expenditure.

It is to be noticed that because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Haj 2020 couldn’t occur.
