Hand Sanitizer Developed by GITAM School of Pharmacy

Hyderabad: In order to keep effective control on the spread of diseases and for maintaining general cleanliness and personal hygiene, GITAM School of Pharmacy, here has taken an initiative to develop a hand sanitizer.

A team of experts comprising Prof. G. Shiva Kumar, Principal, GITAM School of Pharmacy, Dr Rakesh Barik and Dr Sinoy Sugunan, Assistant Professors developed hand sanitizer in the laboratory of School of Pharmacy. The hand sanitizer comprising Isopropyl alcohol (70%), glycerin (3%) and orange oil (2%) will be kept at various places on the university campus for the use of all the students, faculty and non-teaching staff.

Prof. N.Siva Prasad, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; DVVSR Varma, Resident Director and Prof. A. Sreeram, Director, Students Affairs, appreciated the faculty team of their efforts to develop an indigenous hand sanitizer.
