HC asks authorities to implement GO. 411 on liquor bottles

Amaravati: The High Court of the state today issued crucial orders on the issue of transportation of liquor bottles in the state from other states of the country. It asked the authorities to implement GO MS No.411 on the issue. It said that every individual can bring in three bottles of liquor in the state.

The High Court passed these orders while dealing with a petition filed by the petitioners alleging the harassment of the police. The petitioners have told the HC that the police were harassing them whenever they were bringing the liquor bottles into the state from the other states of the country. They also told the High Court that the police were the orders that allow the people of the state and others to bring three whiskey bottles and six beer bottles into the state. The individuals can carry three bottles of Indian medical foreign liquor (IMFL), foreign liquor and 3 bulk liters of denatured is methylated spirit and six beer bottles of 650 ml.

The High Court order also allows the people to transport 2 bulk liters of toddy. It,  however, prevents the transportation of the rectified spirit and intoxicating drugs into the state from other parts of the country.
