Heatwave Grips Hyderabad and Telangana as Monsoon Delays

As the state’s monsoon season has been delayed, Hyderabad and several other areas in Telangana are currently experiencing high heat. Skymet, a meteorological forecasting firm, forecasted a four-week delay in the monsoon.

Because of the uncertainty surrounding the arrival of the monsoon, Hyderabad residents are bracing for an extended period of extreme heat. In recent days, the city has experienced high maximum temperatures, with temperatures approaching 40 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures in Asifnagar and Shaikpet were 39.9 and 39.7 degrees Celsius, respectively. Temperatures at Charminar, Maredpally, Bahadurpura, Saidabad, Secunderabad, Musheerabad, Khairatabad, and Nampally were also above 39 degrees Celsius.

The impact of the delayed monsoon can also be seen in other areas of Telangana. Kumuram Bheem district had the greatest maximum temperature in the state, hitting 44.8 degrees Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad, the city will continue to endure scorching conditions until June 17. The weather service has issued a yellow advisory for the city, advising residents to be cautious and take appropriate precautions during the excessive heat.
