The High Court of Andhra Pradesh today heard petitions filed on the issue of privatization of the Vizag steel plant. The petition was filed by former IPS officer Laxmi Narayana.

The HC issued notices to the state government on the issue and asked it to respond on the issue. It later adjourned the case for four weeks. In his petition, Laxmi Narayana urged the HC to stay the decision of central government to privatize the plant. He said that the plant could earn profits by following alternative methods and added that the privatization of the plant was not an option to bring it back to profits.
