Reacting over a question that a man of Indian origin Rishi Sunak became a Prime Minister of Britain then why not a Muslim man from minority community in India could be elevated to such a coveted post, the AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi responded saying that, “I already said in the past that a Muslim girl wearing hijab will became a prime minister of Indian one day.”
The question was raised in the backdrop of Rishi Sunak, an Indian origin, who became a Prime Minister of Great Britain by overcoming the barriers of white supremacy in the west. After Vice President of the United States of America Kamala Harris, Rishi Sunak became the second person to elevate such a coveted post outside the Indian dominion.
It is not out of place to mention here that the AIMIM Supremo – while addressing a public gathering in Uttar Pradesh earlier this year especially when the Hijab issue was on the boil, said “I may not be alive to see the day but mark my words. A hijab wearing Muslim girl will become the Prime Minister of India.”
“Women, wearing hijabs will pursue higher education, go to college, become district collectors, magistrates, doctors and businesswomen etc etc,” he proclaimed.
Now, in a video uploaded by ANI on its twitter account the MP is seen addressing a press meet purportedly after a meeting at Vijayapura in Karnataka. The AIMIM Chief could be hear saying that “I told this in the past and I am repeating the same today that in my lifetime or thereafter, a Muslim girl wearing hijab will became a Prime Minister of India, Inshallah.” He said amid the chants of Inshallah echoed in the air from surrounding.
With this the twitteraties start trolling the AIMIM Chief asking him to appoint a veiled woman as a Chief of your party first. “How many women MLAs do you have in your party? Do the work at home first,” replied another person. Similarly, another twitterati said “Let him give his Hyderabad MP seat to a Muslim woman first.”
