Hyderabad: 12-year-old boy mauled to death by pack of dogs

The death of a minor boy caused by dogs was reported within the limits of the Kulsumpura police station on Thursday.

In this case, the victim was identified as 12-year-old Syed Sufiyan, who was lured into a river by a pack of dogs when he was mauled to death by the animals. Passers-by chased the dogs away after hearing the boy’s screams.

He passed away immediately after suffering grievous injuries. As soon as this was discovered, locals notified the police, who took the body to the Osmania General Hospital for autopsy.

There is no apparent reason why the dogs attacked the boy, according to the police. “Currently, we are attempting to determine whether the dogs attacked randomly or if they were provoked by the boy. We are trying to determine the reason behind the brutal attack,” police said.

According to Ashok Kumar, an inspector of Kulsumpura, “We have filed a case under section 174 of the Crpc, which covers deaths caused by animal bites. Our preliminary search and consultation with the doctors indicate multiple dog bites on the victim’s body. Therefore, dog bites are likely to have caused the death.”

“As a result, we are coordinating closely with officials of the GHMC investigating the case” added Kumar.

It’s the second incident of this sort that happened in the last one month.

Two stray dogs attacked and killed a two-year-old boy in the Golconda area on April 26. Satgalli (Seven Galli) is an area between Golconda Fort and Fateh Darwaza where the boy was playing outside his home.

The dogs attacked the boy around 8:30 pm on a Tuesday night outside his home when he was playing. They dragged him and continued to attack. Although the residents of the area had previously complained to the GHMC about the stray dog menace, no action has been taken by the GHMC officials.
