Hyderabad: A man was arrested for scamming cinema aspirants

Sunil Kumar, a 27-year-old man was detained by Rachakonda Police in Hyderabad for allegedly defrauding individuals under the guise of supplying them with jobs in the film business. A victim filed a complaint after being scammed out of $90,000, according to police.

According to investigators, the offender introduced himself as a manager and associate director at Ramoji Film City and hosted an app called ‘Cine Drive-In.’

The Rachakonda police detained one individual for allegedly defrauding multiple others under the guise of offering various employment in the film industry.

According to police, the suspect Sunil Kumar, a resident of Sramika Nagar in Visakhapatnam, introduced himself as a manager at Ramoji Film City as well as an associate director. He hosted the ‘Cine Drive-In’ application and shared links on Facebook.

Whenever every Tollywood job seeker filled out the form on the application, Sunil Kumar would call them and tell them they had been chosen. He would gather money online and dupe people, said Rachakonda Cybercrime Inspector M Surendar.

A case was filed and the culprit was apprehended based on a complaint from a victim who had been scammed out of Rs.90,000.

Hyderabad: Two individuals were arrested in Hyderabad for scamming people.

On Wednesday, the Rachakonda cyber crime police detained two people on suspicion of defrauding people through internet commerce.

Ravi, of Attapur, and V. Raghu of Mulugu were detained.

According to police, Ravi defrauded people through numerous Multi-Level Marketing schemes with the assistance of his accomplices Veer Singh, Sandeep Singh, and Raghu. They set up bogus businesses in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Goa and created bank accounts. Ravi advertised on social media that he could make a lot of money trading online in a short period of time. After collecting the funds, they closed the businesses and reopened them in a different location.

A young man from Malkajgiri was recently cheated out of Rs.8.2 lakh. The cybercrime police arrested a man based on his complaint.
