GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) has developed a cutting-edge self-baggage drop facility near gate entry number nine, with the goal of improving passengers’ travel experiences. Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GHIAL, expressed enthusiasm for the new service and emphasised the airport’s commitment to provide a wonderful travel experience through the integration of sophisticated technologies.

GHIAL has created a simple tutorial to help travellers become acquainted with the self-bag drop option. The procedure consists of two simple steps: self-check-in and self-bag drop. Passengers print their boarding pass and bag tags at a self-check-in kiosk, then continue to the self-bag drop unit to scan their boarding pass and place their luggage on the conveyor belt. The unit performs the appropriate tests and, if all goes well, verifies the bag’s processing to the airline. Excess baggage and other unusual cases can be handled at the baggage counter of the airline.

Initially, the self-baggage drop service is only offered to Indigo Airlines passengers flying to Bengaluru and Chennai.
