Hyderabad: CV Anand holds high-level meeting to discuss women and children safety

On Saturday, city police commissioner CV Anand conducted a high-level meeting with top police officials to discuss the Safe City project, which aims to make Hyderabad a safer place for women and children.

AR Srinivas, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes & SIT), G. Sudheer Babu, and other officers from the Information Technology (IT) cell, as well as other officials from various government departments, were present at the meeting.

Additional Director General of Police Shikha Goel and other state commissioners also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Anand emphasized the project’s various tasks, such as establishing 26 Centers for Women’s Development and Empowerment by the end of May and facilitating equipment for forensic Science laboratories.

He stated that completing it by the due date of August this year. Other topics discussed included obtaining specially trained personnel to manage the helpline ‘Dail 100’ for women and children in distress, as well as deploying volunteers to operate pelican signals.

The present status of buildings that would house the new Bharosa centres of tri-commission rates was also reviewed.

CV Anand conducts surprise checks at new police stations in old city

Following the reorganization of the Hyderabad Police, City Police Commissioner CV Anand went out into the field on Friday to inspect the new police stations and zonal and divisional commissioners’ offices in the old city.

During the day-long surprise checks, he assessed the facilities, infrastructure, operational readiness, and facilities available to citizens in the south-east and south zones of Saidabad, Chandrayangutta, Bandlaguda, and Santoshnagar.

Anand also went over the progress of new building construction and renovation of existing buildings that would house the new units. Senior officials and staff were directed to provide information to petitioners and other visitors about the new police stations and offices, as well as changes in jurisdiction.
