Hyderabad Election Preparations and Security Measures

Ronald Rose, Hyderabad’s District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner, presided over a critical review meeting in preparation for the approaching elections. City Police Commissioner CV Anand and Collector Anudeep Durishetty were in attendance.

The discussion was primarily concerned with ensuring that the elections are handled fairly and transparently in accordance with the Election Commission of India’s directions. Several measures were discussed and implemented:

Checkpoints will be put up across the city to strictly monitor the transfer of alcohol and money, which are frequently contentious concerns during election seasons.

Financial Transaction Monitoring: During the election season, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) will actively monitor significant online and cash transactions. Any abnormalities or inconsistencies will be properly examined.

Integrated Checkpoints: Officers from numerous departments, including Excise, GST, RTA, and Police, would be stationed at integrated checkpoints. This comprehensive strategy strives to provide a coordinated and effective response to election-related problems.

Vulnerable Areas Mapping:Sector Control Officers have been instructed to produce reports mapping susceptible locations within two days. Understanding these topics is essential for election preparation and security.

Documentation and reporting: A variety of forms will be utilized to record and report election-related information. Sectoral Officers will complete out vulnerable mapping forms one, two, and three, while Returning Officers will handle form four. Within three, five, and seven days following the poll notification, the District Election Officer will submit Form 5.
