Hyderabad: Everyday Life Remains Affected Due to City Rains on Monday

People were still dealing with traffic congestion, waterlogged roads, inundation, and power outages as of late Monday afternoon, despite the fact that it did not rain as heavily as it did on Saturday. The day saw short, intense rain showers that lasted 30 minutes and brought the city partially to its knees.

Many people returned to work on Monday after a long Dasara vacation. The roads were suddenly congested, and the rain only made matters worse.

Heavy intense short spells of rain lashed the IT corridor and its environs, including Khajaguda, Jubilee Hills, Biodiversity Circle, Shaikpet, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Kondapur, Kothapet, Raidurg and Kukatpally, Bandlaguda Jagir, beginning in the late afternoon.

Rain affected Suleimanmagar, Moosapet, Dabeerpura, Balanagar, Miyapur, Hydernagar, Golconda, Kismatpur, Ziaguda, APPA junction, Bahadurppura, ORR sections, Attapur, Chanchalguda, and Lingampally.

Banjara Hills, Yousufguda, Filmnagar, Nampally, Begumpet, Punjagutta, Ameerpet, Maitri Vanam, as well as Tank Bund, LB Stadium, and Himayatnagar, as well as Mehdipatnam, Asifnagar, and Tolichowki were also hit by heavy rain.

Waterlogged roads in Charminar’s Chudi Bazaar made even commuting difficult. Langer Houz, Charminar, and Afzalgunj were all affected by rain.

Many areas, including Suncity, Mallepally, Santoshnagar, Shantiniketan, Hydershakote, Prashanthnagar, Chennapur, and Thanajinagar, also experienced brief power outages during the day due to feeder failure and disconnected power supply lines.

It is also worth mentioning that despite the fact that the rain had stopped by the evening, traffic was chaotic on many arterial roads and flyovers, including Lakdikapul, PVNR Expressway, Hitec City corridors, Mehdiptanam, Nanalnagar, Kondapur, Kothaguda, IKEA circle, Madhapur, Raidurgam, Shaikpet, Tolichowki, Khairatabad, Masab Tank, Vijaynagar Colony, Nampally, Punjagutta, Begumpet and SD Road.

People rushing home, delivery boys eager to deliver orders, and others looking to avoid the waterlogged roads and traffic contributed to more honking, wrong-side driving, overtaking, and signal jumping.
