Hyderabad Family Neglects Funeral Rites, Keeps Woman’s Body at Home

A family in Jeedimetla, Hyderabad, forgot to perform the funeral rites of a woman who died a week ago and instead kept her body at their home. The incident was discovered on Wednesday after neighborhood residents reported a bad odor originating from the property to authorities.

Muku Radha Kumari (45), the deceased woman, resided with her brother Mukku Praveen Kumar and mother Vijaya Laxmi. Radha Kumari resided with her mother in Jeedimetla after her divorce a few years ago. The family is from the Khammam district’s Sathupally.

According to police investigations, Radha Kumari died a week ago due to health concerns, and her family did not notify anyone. Instead, they kept the body at home and went about their daily lives. Locals alerted police on Wednesday morning, and the body was transferred to Gandhi Mortuary.

Authorities believe the family members are suffering from mental illnesses. The police are planning Radha Laxmi’s funeral and have informed some relatives in Khammam about the issue. More investigations are being conducted to learn more about the facts underlying this odd incidence.
