Hyderabad: GMR Innovex sets up Robotics CoE for airports

As part of its commitment to boosting collaboration in robotics, GMR Innovex, GMR group’s innovation arm, has established a robotics center of excellence (COE) at the GMR Aerocity at Shamshabad.

GMR announced on Thursday that the COE will house a specially designed robotic lab that will identify and incubate startups in the robotics field and co-develop innovative robotic products for airport and aviation ecosystems. As part of its collaboration with Peppermint, SINE IIT Bombay, and Flo Mobility, GMR Innovex has signed a MoU to explore opportunities and identify robotic technology-related applications for airports and ancillary businesses.

“With a focus on developing solutions that are efficient, cost-efficient and cost-effective, the Robotics COE will be the driving force behind the next wave of robotic innovation. It will drive innovation and provide infrastructure, drive thought leadership and collaboration with industry partners, leverage expertise and invest in potential startups,” GMR said.

During the inauguration of the CoE, Telangana Industries & IT principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan said GMR Innovex will be a key tech hub in the state by utilizing this emerging technology.
