Hyderabad: Haj House conducts a review of arrangements for pilgrims

The Telangana Haj Committee has announced that batches of Haj pilgrims from Telangana will depart for Haj 2023 on June 7. Around 5,200 pilgrims are expected to depart from the Hyderabad embarkation point for the Haj. The announcement came following a recent meeting of the Telangana Haj Committee at Haj House.

Arrangements for the Haj camp, as well as the pilgrims’ departure and return, were finalized during the meeting. Speaking to media after the meeting, Chairman Haj Committee Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Chairman Telangana Waqf Board Mr. Masihullah Khan, and Executive Officer Mr. B. Shafiullah stated that the convoys will depart from Hyderabad for Jeddah between June 7 and 22, according to the schedule prepared by the Haj Committee of India.

The pilgrims’ return is set to begin on July 13, with the final convoy arriving in Hyderabad on August 2.

Mr. Mohammed Saleem also stated that Vistara Airlines will provide services to Telangana pilgrims, and that 5,000 passports have been sent to the Haj Committee of India. He went on to say that the government and its departments are fully cooperating with the Haj camp arrangements. The police, fire department, waterworks, medical and health, electricity, and GHMC will all be present at the camp.

Pilgrims will be required to obtain a fitness certificate after an inspection in government hospitals under the new rules, and the vaccination schedule will be announced soon.

The Haj camp tent will be fully air-conditioned, and pilgrims will be transported to the airport in air-conditioned buses. At the airport, a separate terminal will be provided for pilgrims, where immigration and other necessary procedures will be carried out.

According to Mohammad Saleem, pilgrims will be transported to the airport four hours in advance by Haj House. He also stated that there is no shortage of budget for Haj preparations and that the government will release the required funds.

Pilgrims from Karnataka and Maharashtra will depart from Hyderabad, and the number of pilgrims from the Telangana Haj Committee is expected to be around 6,000. Additionally, 7,000 to 8,000 pilgrims are expected to leave from the Hyderabad Embarkation Point.

On May 23, a coordination meeting of all departments for Haj arrangements was held at Haj House.

This year, the provision of 2100 riyals has been stopped to the pilgrims,, so they must deposit the amount as expenses and purchase Saudi Riyals on their own. This year, 500 pilgrims are expected to stay in Nizam Rubat, with the number expected to grow.

15 Khadim-ul-Hujjaj were chosen from Telangana, with another five placed on the waiting list. Khadim al-Hujjaj will be interviewed to assess their experience and abilities. The meeting was attended by Syed Nizamuddin Jafar Khan, Muhammad Sheikh Hameed, Syed Irfanul Haq, Naseeruddin, Mir Nadir Ali Rizvi, Asma Sultana, and Assistant Executive Officer Irfan Sharif.
