According to Dana Kishore, during a review of the HMWS&SB-ORR Phase-II project, the water distribution network will be built simultaneously with the construction of reservoirs.

The water board has supplied drinking water to 149 colonies of the Phase-II project, while the remaining 829 colonies are expected to receive water by March 2023.

ORR Phase-II was proposed by the state government to deal with the decades-old issue of water scarcity affecting people living outside of GHMC and within the ORR jurisdiction.

Even before statehood, residents from these colonies demanded that the water supply shortage issue be resolved once and for all. To permanently end the water crisis in these localities, the Telangana government had approved an administrative sanction of Rs 1,200 crore, which is being executed by the Water Board.
