Hyderabad International Airport awarded ACI World’s ‘Voice of the Customer’ recognition

For the second time in a row, GMR Airports’ Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad has received the ACI World’s (Airports Council International) prestigious ‘Voice of Customer’ recognition.

The prestigious award was given for their ongoing efforts to listen to their passengers, engage with them, and gather feedback in order to understand their needs and address their concerns during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Hyderabad International Airport has implemented several passenger-friendly measures such as contactless elevators, information desks, and boarding facilities, as well as promotion of digital transactions and UV sanitization of passenger baggage, to name a few, according to a press release.

A committed effort towards passenger confidence in air travel was the need of the hour during the challenging times of the pandemic, said Pradeep Panicker, CEO – GMR Hyderabad International Airport. We introduced many initiatives in collaboration with the Telangana government, such as Special Police Officers to enforce Covid protocols at the airport, enhanced passenger safety through Video Analytics, an additional RT-PCR testing lab to ensure passengers’ waiting time at the terminal is as short as possible, and so on.

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) was also awarded the prestigious “Excellence- Gold Award” in the “Telangana State Energy Conservation Awards – 2021 (TSECA). The award was given to GHIAL for their outstanding efforts in energy conservation.

Her Excellency – Dr Smt. TamilisaiSoundararajan, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana & Puducherry, presented the award to senior officials from GHIAL at a grand event held during Energy Conservation Week Celebrations at HITEX Convention Center, in the presence of industry dignitaries and participants.

The annual forum honours companies involved in Energy Efficiency initiatives that incorporate best practices and technological advancement into their daily operations. The jury graded the participants based on a variety of criteria, including their innovative thought processes.
