Hyderabad: Landscape around ORR grows lush amid monsoon

In the midst of the monsoon, the landscape surrounding Hyderabad’s Jawaharlal Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR) has grown to look lush and green. The Urban Development Special Chief Secretary, Arvind Kumar, stated on Wednesday that the entire landscape encompassing the ORR has greatly developed this monsoon, making it gorgeous and green.

Kumar took to Twitter to share photos of the landscape and praised the efforts of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority’s (HDMA) Urban Forestry wing and Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited to preserve the greenery.

“Efforts by the @HMDA Gov urban forestry wing and @md hgcl have turned the entire landscape around #ORR rich green this #monsoon! Green driving in #Hyderabad,” he wrote on Twitter.

Monsoon season in Hyderabad

Hyderabad has been receiving heavy rainfall for the past several days, and the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate showers for the next few days.

Rainfall in the city is expected to be moderate until July 22.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), all districts in Telangana received more than normal rainfall between June 1 and July 15.

On Tuesday, the highest temperature was 31.4 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature was around 23.4 degrees Celsius.

The city is expected to have a generally cloudy sky with light or moderate rainfall until July 25, according to the IMD’s seven-day forecast, and the temperature is expected to drop further.

Having endured rainy and gloomy weather for the past week, residents can now breathe a sigh of relief with sunny and windy conditions prevailing in the last couple of days.

As the southwest monsoon gradually moves away from the city, the weathermen are predicting further relief. Hyderabad experienced gusty, cold winds throughout the day as the showers faded away.

With continuous cloud cover and wind across the city, temperatures were cooler with the highest temperatures at 29 degrees Celsius and the lowest temperatures at 23 degrees Celsius.
