Hyderabad man climbs electric pole after his pushcart was stolen

On Saturday, a pushcart vendor whose cart was allegedly stolen climbed a high tension electric pole in Amberpet.

In the afternoon, a man identified as Mohan Babu climbed the pole, stating that his cart had been stolen and demanding that it be returned or he would end his life. Local people who saw him alerted Amberpet police, who responded immediately and arrived on the scene.

Mohan Babu stepped down from the electric police after nearly an hour of requests and pleas from the police personnel who assured him that they would buy him a completely new pushcart. Only then could the locals and officials breathe a sigh of relief.

Hyderabad man electrocuted while repairing power lines

On the 17th of February, an Electricity Department contract employee was electrocuted while working on an electric pole near Moula Ali.

Tejaswar Rao (22), a resident of Moula Ali and a native of the Srikakulam district, was electrocuted while working on an 11 KV pole. The body was hanging from the line for a while department authorities investigated the source of power supply to the cables.

The Malkajgiri police arrived on the scene, and with the assistance of other personnel that were available there, removed the body and transported it to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Following the incident, many contract employees gathered at the Moula Ali sub-station, alleging that the fatality was caused by the negligence of officials. Senior department officials also visited the substation to speak with employees’ union leaders.
