Hyderabad: The South Central Railway has established two outlets “Hyderabad Pearls & Charminar Bangles” and “Pochampalli Handlooms” at Kacheguda Railway Station for convenience of Rail Users to shop them.
The SCR adopted an innovative idea by letting the space in the Kacheguda station to establish stalls for the world-renowned ‘Hyderabad Pearls& Charminar Bangles’ and ‘Pochampalli Handlooms’ to serve the esteemed passengers, who are interested in exploring the shopping options having a flavor of local culture. The stalls were set up on Platform No.1 of the iconic station building with heritage structure. Hyderabad is internationally famous for its ‘Pearls’ where craftsmen across generations have been practicing the skill of delicate art. Pearls of Hyderabad city are popular for its quality and durability. Similarly, ‘Bangles’ sold in the Charminar area are popular and many people visit Charminar to purchase bangles at ‘Chudi Bazar’. Another stall set up at Kacheguda station is ‘Pochampally Handlooms’. The stalls have added to the beauty to the Kachiguda Railway station.
SCR General Manager Gajanan Mallya appreciated the efforts of the Hyderabad Division commercial department for adopting innovative ideas that will serve the passengers in a better way apart from a generation of ‘Non-Fare Revenue’. He also stated that Rail users can utilize this opportunity and save their shopping time and advised railway officials to adopt such innovative schemes for increasing the revenue from non-conventional sources by utilizing the available space in railway premises in the best way.
