Hyderabad Police Arrest Auto Driver in Major Drug Trafficking Case: Seizure of 210 kg Ganja and Ongoing Investigation

The Medchal police in Hyderabad have arrested someone in connection with a major drug trafficking investigation. Jarupla Thirupathi, a 20-year-old auto driver from Turkyanjal’s L B Nagar in the Ranga Reddy district, was apprehended. Thirupathi is from the village of Chandampeta.

Approximately 210 kilogrammes of marijuana were recovered by the police during the operation. They also seized a Kia automobile and a mobile phone in addition to the drugs. The seized products are estimated to be worth roughly Rs. 60 lakh.

Thirupathi was conveying the ganja shipment to Maharashtra, according to the probe. He was acting on the orders of Ramavath Mathru Nayak, who lives in Bollaram Thanda, Tellarpally village, Nalgonda district.

The ganja was obtained from Seetha Ram, a resident of the Berhampur agency in Odisha. The shipment was intended for Shiva in the Solapur district of Maharashtra. It is suspected that the ganja was purchased for Rs. 3,000 per kilogramme with the intention of selling it to consumers for Rs. 20,000 per kilogramme.

Acting on a tipoff, the police intercepted the car at the Medchal check post and made the arrest. The seized ganja, car, and mobile phone will serve as crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation. A case has been registered against Thirupathi under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

This operation highlights the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and curb the illegal drug trade in the region
