Hyderabad: Police book private buses in Rajendranagar for reckless driving

The Rajendranagar traffic police filed cases against ten bus drivers for excessive speeding and reckless driving.

Following complaints, the Cyberabad traffic police conducted a special drive to crack down on excessive speeding and reckless driving by private bus drivers on the PVNR Expressway.

On the basis of the complaints, Rajendranagar traffic police set up a surveillance vigil on the PVNR Expressway between Attapur and Aramghar crossroads, catching the drivers.

Traffic police detained the vehicles, and their drivers were booked. After being stopped, all of the drivers were advised of traffic rules.

The traffic police had also received several complaints from airport-bound tourists about the excessive speeding by the bus drivers on the PVNR Expressway during the night and early hours of the day which endangers the lives of other road users.

Operation Black Film and Irregular Number Plates

The city police have also revealed its measures to crack down on tinted glasses on four-wheelers and vehicles with irregular number plates in general. The effort, dubbed “Operation Black Film and Irregular Number Plates,” has already begun.

Only the most basic registration markings and digits are permitted on license plates. Other names, images, or fancy lettering are not permitted.

Words and stickers on number plates that say ‘Police,’ ‘Government vehicles,’ ‘Corporator,’ ‘Press,’ ‘Army,’ ‘MLA,’ and ‘MP’ are all prohibited. They break the Motor Vehicle Act’s sections 50, 51, and 52, according to a news release from the City Police Department.

When it comes to tinted windows, police say that using black film on car windows is illegal since it violates a Supreme Court ruling. Vehicle owners who fail to comply with the Court order will face a fine of Rs. 1000, the police said.
