Hyderabad: Police issue traffic advisory for Ram Navami procession

There has been an advisory issued by the Hyderabad traffic police for the Sri Ram Navami procession to be taken out on Sunday. There will be a traffic diversion or restriction on the following routes between 11 am and 10 pm.

Traffic restrictions have been notified by the Hyderabad Police Commission CV Anand for the Ram Navami procession in the city on Sunday. It will cover a distance of 6.5 kilometres.

The Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra will begin at 11 am from Seetarambagh Temple, Mangalhat and will move towards Hanuman Vyayamshala School, Sultan Bazaar through Bhoiguda Kaman, Mangalhat PS Road, Jali Hanuman, Dhoolpet, Puranapul, Jumerath Bazar, Chudi Bazar, Begum Bazaar Chatri, Begum Bazaar, Barthan Bazaar, Siddiamber Bazaar Mosque, Shankar Sher Hotel, Gowliguda Chaman, Gurudwara, Putlibowli crossroads, Andhra Bank, Koti and Hanuman Vyayamshala, Sultan Bazaar.

One of the tributary processions begins at Akashpuri Hanuman temple and joins the main procession at Gangabowli Junction midway through the main procession. The procession will end at Hanuman vyayamshala.

As the procession reaches the areas on the route, the traffic will either be stopped or diverted.

Traffic police have urged people to factor this in when travelling.

Ram Navami procession

The Ram Navami procession is organized in Hyderabad every year. It commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Rama.

In the procession, the BJP MLA for the Goshamahal assembly constituency takes an active part.

Due to the upcoming assembly elections in the state, it is expected that a grand procession will be organized since BJP has not spared any effort to gain power in the state.

As for the processions in the city, the police have already made the necessary arrangements.
